Born in Anniston, Alabama, I have lived in Florida for over 35 years and in DELIGHTFUL DELAND for 25 of those years. I have loved every minute of it and highly recommend the West Volusia area to all I meet.
Here we have the best of the Florida lifestyle but still enjoy a change of seasons four times a year. Your choice of architectural styles range from Southern traditional to Key West cottage with every other style in between. It has been a wonderful place to raise my three sons with its hometown family-type atmosphere, but when the "bright lights" beckon, Orlando and Daytona Beach are only a short drive away.
For all of us sports fans, there is no greater state than Florida! The quality and quantity of our high school, college and professional football teams is phenomenal. Basketball and baseball fans are not left out as Stetson University has teams for both sports that are always top ranked. Even professional hockey is as close as Orlando.
